Once you have found a card you would like to order, take the following steps to successfully complete your order:
- Read All Information on the Page
Important information, such as card dimensions, allowed photos, color request options, and photo information are detailed out on each product page. Please read through the bottom of the page and read our important information under the 'more photo information' tab before ordering.
- Select a Finish Type (and envelope type if offered)
Our semi-gloss finish is the standard, base price finish. All other finish types are an upgrade. Our "eggshell parchment" envelopes are also an upgrade, if offered on your chosen card. In cases where multiple envelope types are offered, you must select BOTH a finish type AND envelope type to see the price change.
- Enter Card Text
Most cards have specific text boxes relating to front and back of your photo card. If only one card text box is offered, simply specify where you would like us to place your text (such as, "FRONT OF CARD: textextext BACK OF CARD: textextext..."). To expedite the proofing process, we ask that you carefully check ALL spelling, grammar, dates, etc. while entering your card text, as your text will be copied and pasted onto the card by a designer. We do not check for spelling errors. You will have a chance to review for errors during the proofing process.
- Upload Photos (if offered)
For cards with less than 5 photos, click on the 'browse' button(s) to find the desired photo(s) for your card. Photos must measure between 900KB and 10MB to produce a clear print. Photos under 900KB in size will not print clearly. Do not submit photos pulled from a website, as they will most likely be too small to reprint.
For photo cards with 5 or more photos, because we require such high resolution photos, we ask that you e-mail your photos to us after your order is placed, along with your order number and the desired placement of each photo on the card. You may request that your photos be made sepia or black and white at this time. We recommend multiple e-mails to accommodate the large files. - Choose Your Quantity
Most of our cards are ordered only in quantities of 25. Our small cards are offered in quantities of 50. The price of your cards will remain consistent for all quantities.
- Answer "How Did You Hear About Us" Question
We love knowing where you found out about us! We ask that you give as much detail as possible (such as, "did a web search for 'elegant wedding invitations' on Google") so we know where we are succeeding.
- Click "Add to Cart"
If Photo Uploads were done online (for cards with under 5 photos), please be patient while the order processes. It is during this time that your large photos are uploading to our system. This process may take several minutes.
- Checkout or Continue Shopping
After your photos have uploaded, you will be sent to a page where you can either continue shopping, or proceed to checkout. Find the Orange Checkout Button on the top right.
- Register an Account
Follow the self-guided fields to open an account with us. Please double check the spelling on your name, number, address, and e-mail address before completing your order. It is very important that we successfully contact you after your order is placed.
- Choose a Shipping Method
Shipping rates are based on order total and location. Options are as follows for US orders:
Standard: 24 hours for first proofs (after all information/photos are received), 48 hours for print, 6 business days for shipping.
Rush: 24 hours for first proofs, 24-48 hours for print, 2 business days for shipping
Rush with priority proofing: 6 hours for first proof, 24-48 hours for print, 2 business days for shipping.
- Review and Confirm Your Order
You will not be able to check all spelling on card text at this point. You will be able to check your card text on your first set of e-mailed proofs.
- Carefully Review our Terms
Please read our Terms of Purchase carefully before submitting your order. We will adhere to all terms stated and agreed to.
- Choose Payment Method and Complete Payment
If you are experiencing problems with your credit card, you will need to consult your credit card company to see why the card is being declined and to check that the address information you entered on our site is the same as the information recorded with the credit card company. We recommend using Paypal if you experience problems using your credit card.
- Proofs
All of our orders are put together by a designer. After your order is complete, your first set of proofs will be e-mailed within 24 hours on business days for standard shipping, or within 6 business hour for rush shipping with proirity proofing. We always meet this deadline. If you have not received your proofs within the 24 hour (business days only) period, please check your junk box or contact us to e-mail to you again. Please provide an alternate e-mail address for us to try.
- Corrections on Proofs
If any corrections or changes are needed after reviewing your first set of proofs, simply e-mail us your changes. We ask that you be very specific with your corrections. Your first two sets of proofs are free. If more changes are needed after the second set of proofs has been submitted, there will be a $10 fee per set of changes/proofs. We require that you approve your proofs before we will send the cards to print.
- Approval to Print
Once you have reviewed and approved your proofs for print, simply notify the designer with whom you have been working that you approve the proofs for print. Once the proofs are approved for print, the cards are immediately put into production and no further changes can be made whatsoever. It is very important that you check all spelling, dates, grammar, etc., before approving your proofs.
Please note that the printer will take off about 1/4 inch around all sides of the card during printing. Some design, and in some cases photos, will be cropped off during printing around all sides.
- Cards Delivered
Your cards will be delivered within 8 business days (including print time) in the US after your approval for print. There have been times where customers have had to coordinate with UPS for a drop off time. We do have your UPS Tracking code and you are welcome to contact us for it.
If your cards are different than what you ordered, please contact us for possible solutions, however, we will NOT take responsibility for errors not brought to our attention before proofs' approval. We will NOT take responsibility for color variations or grainy photos. All sales at Photo Card Chef are final. Please read our Terms carefully before ordering. If an error was made on our behalf, we will have your cards reprinted with expedited shipping.
